Code of Conduct - Junior Hedgehog Disc Golf Club

Purpose

The Junior Hedgehog Disc Golf Club aims to foster sportsmanship, skill development, and enjoyment of disc golf in a supportive and respectful environment. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all members, including during practices, events, and tournaments.


General Expectations

  1. Respect for Others
    • Treat all players, coaches, officials, and spectators with kindness and respect.
    • Encourage teammates and opponents alike with positive language.
    • Avoid all forms of bullying, teasing, or exclusion.

  1. Integrity and Sportsmanship
    • Play honestly and follow all rules of the game.
    • Accept calls and decisions made by officials and fellow players.
    • Take responsibility for your actions, on and off the course.

  1. Safety First
    • Use discs and equipment responsibly.
    • Be aware of your surroundings to avoid accidents or injuries.
    • Report any unsafe behavior or conditions to a coach or club leader.

  1. Positive Attitude
    • Come to practices and events ready to learn and try your best.
    • Support your teammates and be a good example to younger or newer players.
    • Have fun while respecting the game and your fellow competitors.


Behavior During Tournaments

  1. Punctuality and Preparedness
    • Arrive on time with all necessary gear and appropriate attire.
    • Be prepared mentally and physically to play your best.

  1. Course Conduct
    • Remain quiet and still while others are throwing.
    • Avoid foul language or negative outbursts after shots.
    • Do not intentionally distract or interfere with any player’s performance.

  1. Scoring and Rules
    • Keep accurate and honest scores at all times.
    • Know and follow PDGA rules and any event-specific guidelines.
    • Ask a tournament official or coach for clarification when unsure about a       rule.

  1. Representing the Club
    • Wear your club gear with pride and represent your club in a positive light.
    • Show good sportsmanship whether you win or lose.
    • Thank the tournament organizers, volunteers, and other players after the round.


Consequences for Misconduct

Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Verbal warnings from a coach or club leader.
  • Temporary suspension from practices or events.
  • Removal from the club for repeated or serious offenses.

All players and guardians must read and agree to this Code of Conduct. By joining The Junior Hedgehog Disc Golf Club, you commit to upholding these values and contributing to a respectful, safe, and fun environment for all.
